Theo Asthalin SR – 2MG +100 MG

Theo Asthalin SR – 2mg +100mg contains generic drugs named Salbutamol Sulphate Theophylline. People suffering from asthma and breathing problems are usually prescribed with this medicine. Some of the patients suffer from severe wheezing due to bronchospasm  in such case autohalers and nebulizers are used. It will relieve them from sufferings like cold, cough, wheezing, chest congestion, etc.

How it works?

There are receptors called Beta-2 receptors in the lungs and this salbutamol drug acts on it and stimulates them, with which the muscles on the air-passages gets relaxed enabling the  patient  to breathe very comfortably. Theophyline is a phosphodiesterase inhibitor that contributes to bronchial smooth muscle relaxation.

Dosage information

Per tablet contains salbutamol 2mg and theophyline 100mg for an adult the dose is about 1 or 2 tablets per day.

What if you miss a dose?

If you happen to miss a dose, see that the dose is not doubled. Especially if you are nearing to the next dose then try to skip the missed dose and go for the routine daily course of dose resume. 

What if you overdose?

Due to some reason you happen to miss a dose and realize after about 5 to 6 hours then you need to consult your doctor or else leave the dose and proceed for the next dose routing. Never try to double up the dose if you have forgotten.

Things to be taken care of

Do not use the expired drugs always keep a check on the date of expiry.

Asthalin is supposed to be taken on long term management of breathing case. It is therefore not used in a very acute case.

You are required to keep the complete record of the medicines you are taking along with Asthalin

Side effects

Some of the contraindications are hypersensitivity and thyrotoxicosis.  Every drug that is consumed has side effects. Some of the common side-effects that have been reported are:
