Soranib is a chemotherapy medicine that is used to treat cancer of liver and kidneys. This medicine is prescribed in the conditions such as advanced renal cell carcinoma and hepatocellular carcinoma.

This medicine works by inhibiting the action of enzymes that signal cancer cells to grow and multiply. This medicine also stops blood vessels from forming within the tumor and this cuts down on the growth of cancer cells in the body.

Sorafenib Tosylate is a small molecular inhibitor of several tyrosine protein kinases.

Dosage information

Interaction with other drugs

Soranib might interact with doxorubicin, docetaxel, irinotecan, heparins, warfarin and neomycin. The drugs that might bring down the efficacy of this anti cancer drug are rifabutin, Phenobarbital, carbamazepine, phenytoin and rifamycins.

If taking any medicine for blood pressure, diabetes or allergy, notify your doctor and avoid taking these when taking this anti cancer drug. Do not take Soranib with any antacid or herbal formulation as the ingredients present might lead to slow absorption and this would prevent the medicine from giving results. Do not take any other anti cancer drug with Soranib without consulting your doctor.
