Sorafenat is an anti-cancer drug used as a chemotherapeutic medicine. This medicine is used to treat advanced renal cell carcinoma, a type of kidney cancer, radioactive iodine resistant advanced thyroid carcinoma and advanced primary liver cancer.

How it works?

Sorafenat works by interfering with growth and spread of cancer cells in the body. This medicine blocks protein kinases and stops the cancer cells from forming blood vessels required for their growth.

Important information about Medicine

Sorafenib is a Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitor and Angiogenesis Inhibitor. This medicine interferes with the signaling mechanism of enzymes and thus slows down the growth of cancer cells considerably.

Dosage information

Doctor would decide on the dosage and patient needs to take this medicine empty stomach. The medicine needs to be swallowed with water and should not be broken, crushed or chewed.

What if you miss a dose?

In case, you miss the dose take it as soon as you remember. If the time to next dose is near, skip the missed one and follow the schedule.

What if you overdose?

Do not alter the dose, in case you take multiple doses, get in touch the local poison center immediately. In case you notice symptoms such as diarrhea or severe skin rashes and burns, get in touch with your doctor immediately.

When taking Sorafenat ensure that you follow all the instructions provided by the doctor and do not take any restricted foods or beverages.
