This drug has a generic
name Sitagliptin+ Metformin which is an oral medicine for diabetes problems. It
is marketed with the name of salt of phosphate under various trade names. This
drug is very effective in controlling the sugar level, thereby, controlling
diabetes. It is mostly recommended to treat Type 2 diabetes mellitus alone or
in combination with other complimentary medicines which are used to cure
diabetes. This drug is not recommended for type 1 diabetes. It is either sold
alone or in combination with metformin or Thiazolidinediones (other

How it works?
Sitagliptin is an oral
anti-hyperglycemic or anti-diabetic drug which comprised of DPP-4 inhibitors
(dipeptidylpeptidase-4 inhibitors) that helps in lowering down the blood sugar
level. These inhibitors increase the secretion of insulin and suppress the
release of glucagon by pancreas. This derives the glucose levels to the normal

What if you miss a dose?
In case you miss a dose of Sitagliptin, skip the dose and take
