It is most often known
with its generic name Nevirapine, which is an antiviral drug that prevents the
human immunodeficiency virus or HIV from spreading in your body. It is
generally prescribed for the treatment of HIV which is responsible for causing
the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome or AIDS. It
is sold under various trade names including Viramune and Nevimune (made by
Cipla). It is also prescribed for other medical treatments which are not

information about Nevirapine
Nevirapine (Viramune,
Nevimune) will not provide cure for HIV. You may be at the risk of spreading
the virus to other people through infected blood (through needles, razors and

Nevirapine may also cause severe damage to your liver. Get

It belongs to FDA pregnancy category B drug. It is not expected
that it could harm an unborn baby while taken during the pregnancy. However,
HIV can pass into the baby from his/her mother at the time of pregnancy.

Consume Nevirapine with or without food, or as prescribed by doctor. It is

if your miss a dose?
You should take your

ergonovine, or methylergonovine), heart or blood pressure medicines,
immunosuppressive medicines, or seizure medicines. Inform your doctor well in
