FOLIGRAF 75 IU
FOLIGRAF or follicle
stimulating hormone is given to help a lady get pregnant. This medicine is used
to help make sperm by causing the growth of ovarian follicles.
How it
works?
FOLIGRAF is used in
combination with human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) to assist in ovulation and
fertility. This medicine might be used with in-vitro fertilization methods also.

information about Medicine
Urofollitropin or
FSH binds to the follicle stimulating hormone receptor which is a G-coupled
transmembrane receptor. Binding of the FSH to its receptor induces
phosphorylation and activates PI3K (Phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase) and Akt
signals pathway, which is known to regulate many other metabolic and related
survival/maturation functions in cells.
Dosage
information
Initially, the
doctor would give 150 IU daily SC/IM for the first 5 days. When administered
for 7-12 days it results in follicular growth and maturation. The dosage might
vary in conditions such as polycystic ovarian syndrome, female infertility and
in-vitro fertilization and male infertility.

• Mild to moderate ovarian enlargement
• Formation of fluid sacs in ovaries

reactions.
Interaction
with other drugs
FOLIGRAF might show
interactions with luteinizing hormone activity and could increase the risk of
ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome. Make sure that you do not take any hormonal
medicine with thus drug and inform your doctor about all the medicines that you
are currently taking.
Doctors might advise you to take certain medicines when on
FOLIGRAF, make sure that you follow the instructions carefully. Complete the
course and do not stop in between when taking this sex hormone.
