tyrosine kinase inhibitor prescribed in the condition of non-small cell lung
cancer.

ERLOCIP works by
controlling the activity of the abnormal protein that cuts down on the growth
of cancer cells. Regular intake of this anti-cancer medicine minimizes and
stops the cancer cells from spreading.

Erlotinib is usually
blended with gemcitabine and is then used for treating pancreatic cancer that
has already spread to others parts of the body and nearby tissues.

Things to be taken care of
ERLOCIP should not
be taken by the patients who are allergic to Erlotinib. This anti-cancer drug
falls in pregnancy category D thus it should not be taken by the women who are
pregnant or lactating or trying to conceive as this might cause harm to the
baby.
Intake of this medicine might bring down the platelet count;
thus ensure that you go in for regular medical checkups. Avoid going out in the
sun immediately after taking this medicine as this might lead to severe
sunburn. Monitor your blood pressure, kidney and liver function and eyes while

nefazodone, phenytoin, ketoconazole, Phenobarbital, itraconazole and
voriconazole.
This anti-cancer medicine might show interactions with
several foods and fluids too, thus make sure that you follow in a strict diet
regime instructed by the doctor. While on this medicine do not take any health
tonics, antacids or even a multivitamin as this might interfere with the
working of this medicine cutting down on the efficacy.
Intake of alcohol is strictly prohibited with ERLOCIP and
more so one needs to stay away from the food items that might contain
artificial flavors and colors. Do not start with any new medicine while taking
this anti-cancer drug as this might lead to several bodily reactions.
