How it works?

Sitagliptin is an oral anti-hyperglycemic or anti-diabetic drug which comprised of DPP-4 inhibitors (dipeptidylpeptidase-4 inhibitors) that helps in lowering down the blood sugar level. These inhibitors increase the secretion of insulin and suppress the release of glucagon by pancreas. This derives the glucose levels to the normal level. As the blood glucose levels become normal, the increased changes in the insulin and glucagon halts and thus further prevents from hypoglycemic situation.
