Dalacin C is
an antibiotic that is used to treat severe bacterial infections caused by
anaerobic bacteria in the body.
How
it works?
The antibacterial action
of Dalacin C attacks gram positive bacteria and anaerobic bacteria. The
bacteriostatic action of this medicine stops bacteria from growing and thus
cures the infection completely.

is used to treat serious bacterial infections and protozoal diseases such as
Malaria.
Dosage

Recommended dosage varies
from 150 mg to 450 mg in adults. Your doctor will decide on the
dose looking at the severity of infection and its spread. The dose
needs to be taken before or after the meal.

if you miss a dose?
Take the missed dose as

Things
to be taken care of
Dalacin C contains
lactose, a type of sugar and is thus not recommended to the people who have diabetes.
If pregnant or trying to get pregnant talk to your doctor about this before you
start taking this medicine. This medicine is not recommended for lactating
mothers as the substances present might get passed to the breast milk causing
harm to the baby.
While on Dalacin C go in

Effects

Interaction
with other drugs
There are some medicines
with which Dalacin C might interact such as erythromycin, warfarin, muscle
relaxants and even oral contraceptives. If allergic to clindamycin or
lincomycin, do not take this medicine. If you have taken medicine for asthma,
hayfever or even eczema in the recent past, inform your doctor about this.
Avoid alcohol intake till the course completes. Do not take any herbal or
dietary supplement without informing your doctor during the course as this
could lead to severe interactions.
