Budecort Rotacaps 400mcg

Budecort rotacaps 400mcg contains a generic drug named Budesonide.  It is mainly prescribed for asthma and breathing problems. Basically budesonide is a glucocorticoid steroid which occurs naturally in the adrenal glands in the form of hormone cortisole.  It has anti inflammatory action that reduces the inflammation and hyperactivity spasm of the air passage caused by asthma.

How it works?

Rotacaps helps to take the drug from the mouth to the lungs, and reaches the site of action producing the desired effect. When the drug budecort rotacps 400 mcg is inhaled, it enters the air passage and exerts inhibitory activities and reduces the inflammation.

Budesonide is a manmade glucocorticoid steroid which is similar to the hormone that naturally occurs in the adrenal glands known as cortosol or hydrocortisone.  This hormone is used for treating asthma. It has a potent anti-inflammatory action that reduces the inflammation and spasmodic hyper activity in the air passage.  The drug reaches the inflamed air-passage to exert its effect.  Budesonide is an active pharmaceutical ingredient. It is a synthetic steroid.

Dosage information

The dose of Budecort Rotacaps varies from patient to patient. Various factors are considered before it is prescribed to the patient suffering from asthma. Sex, Age, weight of the patient is to be considered. Besides this the metabolic rate, diseased conditions and many other aspect are also considered. The initial prescribed dose of Budecort Rotacaps 400 mcg per day in 2 divided doses, which can be increased up to 1.6mg per day if the case is severe.

What if you miss a dose?

If you happen to miss a dose, see that the dose is not doubled. Especially if you are nearing to the next dose then try to skip the missed dose and go for the routine daily course of dose resume. 

What if you overdose?

See that you never take an overdose. It is life threatening and if by chance you have taken an overdose immediately consult the doctor and take necessary medical aid and advice.

Things to be taken care of

During medication never consume alcohol, take care of having any cold items so as to avoid cough and chest congestion.
