RENODAPT S is an
immunosuppressant drug used to prevent rejection in organ transplantation.
How
it works?
This medicine acts by
blocking purine synthesis of human lymphocytes via reversible inhibition of
inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase. This medicine also inhibits proliferation
of B and T lymphocytes.

Mycophenolic is
prescribed in conditions such as Organ transplantation of kidney, liver, heart
and lungs, psoriasis and small vessel vasculitis.
Dosage
information
Oral
dosage in adults: As
mycophenolate mofetil: 1 g bid starting within 72 hours of transplantation.
Max: 2 g/day.
Oral
Dosage in kids: As
mycophenolate mofetil: 2-18 years: 600 mg/m2 bid.
Oral
Dosage in Elderly: As mycophenolic acid: Max: 720 mg bid.

if you miss a dose?

if you overdose?
Do not alter the dosage

to be taken care of
This medicine needs to be
administered under the guidance and supervision of a health care practitioner.
Increased susceptibility of infection might be related to immunosuppression.
This medicine should be taken by women of child bearing age with complete
protection. This medicine should not be taken by pregnant ladies as it could
lead to congenital malformations and pregnancy loss. Patients taking this
medicine need to report signs and symptoms of infections both fungal and viral
to the doctor immediately.

Interaction
with other drugs
This drug might interact
with other medicines and foods and thus you need to inform your doctor if on
any drug. Intake with magnesium, colestyramine and aluminium
hydroxide-containing products might lead to reduced absorption. Taking this
medicine with drugs containing metronidazole, ciclosporin, rifamycins and
quinolones might cause reduced plasma levels. Do not take this medicine with
probenecid as it could lead to increased plasma levels. If on live vaccines, do
not take this medicine as it could bring down the efficacy of drugs.
Avoid taking this
medicine with prohibited food items as it could lead to severe interactions. Do
not take this medicine with an antacid or herbal formulation as this could
slower the absorption rate.
