Cyclophil Me is a cyclic
polypeptide immunosuppressant that is prescribed for organ rejection during
heart, liver and kidney transplants.
How
it works?
Cyclophil Me works by
forming a microemulsion in an aqueous environment and due to this it suppresses
the immune system of the body thus preventing organ rejection.

information about Medicine
Ciclosporin is produced
as a metabolite by a fungus species called Beauveria nivea. This medicine is
also prescribed for the treatment of severe form of psoriasis and rheumatoid
arthritis.
Dosage
information
Prescribed dosage is
around 15mg/kg and needs to be taken around 40 to 12 hours after the
transplantation. The medicine can be taken with or without food. The doctor
would decide on the length of the course, which might span up to two weeks.

Things
to be taken care of
This medicine should be
not be taken by the ones suffering from renal disease, malignancy of any kind
or hypertension. Avoid consuming grapes, grape juice and grape wine with this
medicine as this might lead to severe cyclosporine metabolism. This medicine
falls under category C of pregnancy, thus is not recommended for pregnant
women. Consult your doctor if trying to conceive or lactating before taking
this medicine. Dosage of the medicine needs to be adjusted for the patients who
are being treated for psoriasis who are already being treated with UVB, coal
tar, radiation, OUVA and methotrexate. When taking this medicine, try and avoid
direct contact with tanning beds and sunlight.

with other drugs
Cyclophil Me might show
interactions with ACE inhibitors, lithium, repaglinide, beta-blockers,
anti-fungals, methotrexate, etoposide, meselamine and some anti-viral drugs.
When being treated with Cyclophil Me try and avoid live vaccines as these might
also lead to uncomfortable interactions.
