Ciplox is used for
treating bacterial infections in the body. The infections for which this
medicine is prescribed include malignant external otitis, inhalation anthrax
and pelvic inflammatory disease.

it works?
Ciplox acts as an
antibacterial agent by fighting and killing bacteria in the body. This
antibiotic works on some specific strains of bacteria. This medicine also works
to treat fever caused by bacteria in neutropenic patients.

Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride
belongs to the family of fluoroquinolone antibiotics. This antibiotic treats
infection of testicles, genital organ infection in women, soft tissue
infections, recurring ear infections, sinusitis and bone and joint infections.

on the dosage and length of the course. Usually the course lasts from 7 to 21
days.

What
if you miss a dose?
Try not to miss any dose
of this antibiotic. In case, you forget to take the dose, take it as soon as
you remember. Make sure that the time to take the next dose is not near, if
yes, then skip on the missed one and go with the scheduled one.
What
if you overdose?
Do not take multiple
doses at a time. Always take the dosage as prescribed by the doctor. In case,
you overdose visit your nearby medical emergency center immediately or consult
your doctor for advice.
Things
to be taken care of
Do not take this medicine
if allergic or sensitive to Ciprofloxacin or if you are taking tizanidine. If
suffering from a heart problem or if you have a family history of QT interval
or if suffering from epilepsy do not take this medicine. Inform your doctor if
you have kidney or liver related problem of is suffering from myasthenia
gravis. If you are pregnant or lactating or if trying to become pregnant,
inform your doctor about this before you start taking this medicine. Stop
taking the medicine, in case an allergic reaction occurs and notify your doctor
about this immediately.

Interaction
with other drugs
Inform your doctor if
taking anti-arrhythmics, anti-depressants and antipsychotics as the
constituents present in these might interfere with Ciprofloxacin. Taking
Ciprofloxacin with tizanidine could lead to insomnia and lower blood pressure
levels, thus this combination is not recommended. Do not take Ciprofloxacin
with Vitamin K antagonists, ciclosporin, metoclopramide, methotrexate and
theophylline as this could lead to interactions. Do not take antacids as this
could reduce the effect of Ciprofloxacin.
