Zaha eye drops fall under the category of antibiotics and are used for fighting different kinds of infections. These eye drops are used for respiratory infections, ear infections, skin infections, and STDs (sexually transmitted diseases).

How it works?

Zaha eye drops’ being a bacteriostatic antibiotic prevents the growth of bacteria and this slows down and further stops the process of cell division. As a result of this the translation process gets hindered forcing the bacteria from not reproducing, thus bringing an end to infection.

Azithromycin is an azalide derived from erythromycin which is prescribed for different types of bacterial infections including pneumonia, bronchitis, urinary tract infections, and tonsillitis and skin infections.

Dosage information

What if you miss a dose?

Try and administer Zaha eye drops daily at the same time as this would cut on the chances of you missing the dose. In case you miss a dose talk to your doctor and if suggested take it as soon as you remember.

What if you overdose?

o not put too many drops at a given time or repeat the dose quite frequently with a perception that it would bring in some quick relief, instead it might harm you. In case, you overdose talk to your doctor and visit a nearby medical emergency center for help.

Things to be taken care of

Zaha eye drops should not be taken by someone who is allergic to azithromycin or any of its constituents. If you are lactating or pregnant, do not take this medicine without consulting your doctor. Patients suffering from arrhythmia and myasthenia gravis should not take this medicine.

Zaha eye drops, like any other antibiotic might give you some side effects, these include:

Interaction with other drugs

Although no severe interactions have been reported so far, avoid taking Zaha eye drops with the medicines that contain Amiodarone, Bivalirudin, Argatroban, Warfarin, Chloroquine,  Escitalopram, Quinidine,  Disopyramide, Procainamide, Nelfinavir,  Pimozide and   Methadone. Make sure that you inform your doctor about your past medical history before taking azithromycin to avoid any such interactions from occurring.
