LOETTE is a birth control medicine that prevents pregnancy by stopping the ovulation process in females.

How it works?

LOETTE works by stopping pregnancy as it thickens the uterine lining and cervical mucus leading to stoppage of egg release from the ovaries. This medicine also hardens the uterine lining so that fertilized egg does not attach to the uterus wall.

Important information about Medicine

Levonorgestrel and Ethinylestradiol prevent pregnancy from occurring and are also used to treat acne in females. This medicine can also be used to treat conditions such as ovarian cysts, fibrocystic breast disease and endometrial cancer. Intake of this medicine works by improving endometriosis.

Dosage information

One tablet of LOETTE needs to be taken daily without a fail. Make sure that you use a condom or other contraception protection during initial days of intake.

What if you miss a dose?

Do not miss the dose as this could lead to pregnancy. Make sure that you are not without the medicine for more than 24 hours.

What if you overdose?

Do not alter the dosage without consulting your doctor and do not take two dosages at a single time as this could cause vaginal bleeding, vomiting and nausea. In case, you are using any other contraceptive too as backup inform your doctor.

Things to be taken care of

This medicine is not safe for the ones suffering from heart related issues or the ones who have suffered from blood clots in recent past. In case you notice swelling in any part of the body or face difficulty breathing consult your doctor immediately. Make sure that you take in plenty of water while on the LOETTE course. People with high or low blood pressure need to take this medicine only after doctor prescription. Diabetic people should not take this medicine as it might lead to blood vessel damage. Females with ovarian cysts need to take this medicine with complete caution and precaution after consulting the doctor.

Side Effects

In case you notice any of the below mentioned side effects talk to your doctor immediately and discontinue the intake of LOETTE:

• Painful periods
• Changes in mucus from the vagina

• Depression
• Missed periods

• Rapid breathing
• Swelling in limbs
• Chest pain
• Sudden headaches

Do not take these signs lightly as these might lead to extensive discomfort.

Interaction with other drugs

There are certain medicines with which the components present in LOETTE might interfere, these include tuberculosis medication, bosentan, medicine for hepatitis C, seizure medications, tizanidine, dantrolene, tranexamic acid and herbal products.
