What is Roseday

This drug has a generic name Rosuvastatin which belongs to a family of drugs called statins. This drug efficiently reduces the low density lipoprotein or LDL (labeled as bad cholesterol) and triglycerides in the blood, while improves the level of high density lipoprotein (labeled as good cholesterol). It is used along with diet changes, weight loss and exercise regime to combat the risks of heart attack and heart related disorders.

Dosage information

Take the dose exactly as prescribed by your doctor or physician. The general recommended dose is 10 mg, but in some rare cases it can be extended to 40 mg after consulting with doctor. It can be taken with or without food in the morning and evening time with plenty of fluid. Do not crush or chew the tablet, swallow it as a whole for best results. Do not alter the dosage until your doctor advices you to do so. Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly as it may leads to adverse reactions.

What if you miss a dose

In case you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember the dose. But, if it is less than 12 hours left to take next dose then skip the missed dose and take the scheduled one.  

What if you overdose

In case of overdose, get emergency medical help or call your doctor immediately.

Precautions and Warning

Do not use this drug if the prescription period is over. Keep a complete record of all medicines that you are taking while being treated with this medicine. You can follow a proper diet including green vegetables like carrots, peas and green beans and physical exercises while taking this tablet. Intake the fibrous products like apple, banana and peach as it will cut you to down the saturated fat from your body.

Side Effects

You may need medical attention if you encounter any of the following conditions from the ingestion of Rosuvastatin: depression, joint pain, chest pain, loss of appetite, swelling in body, fever and fatigue, yellowing of the skin or eyes, severe pain and tenderness in muscles, dryness of mouth and increased thirst, dry skin, blurred vision and loss of weight, memory problems like confusion and depression.

Drug interaction

This drug should not be taken along with other drugs as it may interact with them and results into some adverse effects. It may interact to following products: Cyclosporine, Warfarin, Antacids, Nicotinic acid and Gemfibrozil, Indinavir, Lopinavir, Niacin, Atazanavir, Colchicine and many more.
