COBIX is used to
treat rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis painful
menstruation.
How it works?
COBIX relieves pain,
swelling and tenderness of affected joints. This medicine works by blocking the
production of prostaglandins that causes pain, inflammation and stiffness of
joints.

Celecoxib is a
non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that is provides relief from pain,
swelling and stiffness of joints.
Dosage information
Recommended dosage of the medicine is 200mg daily. However the
doctor would decide on this looking at the condition of the patient and
considering factors like severity of pain and swelling.

What if you miss a dose?
In case you miss a
dose take the missed one immediately, if the time to next dose is near you can
skip on the missed one. Take the medicine at same time daily as this will
prevent you from skipping the dose.
What if you overdose?
Never overdose
thinking that it would bring in quick relief from pain as this could act fatal.
In case you overdose by mistake get in touch with the closest medical emergency
center.
Things to be taken care of
COBIX falls in
pregnancy category C, thus it should not be taken by the females who wish to
conceive or the ones who are pregnant or breastfeeding as this could harm the
baby. This medicine should not be taken if:
• Suffering from irritable bowel disease
• Having kidney or liver related diseases
• If allergic to anti inflammatory drugs or any components
present in this medicine
• If taking medicine for diabetes or depression
Make sure that you inform your doctor about your health
condition and the medicines that you are already taking before starting with
COBIX.
Side Effects
Like any other
medicine, COBIX too tends to give away some minor to major side effects that
could bother one and not all, these include:
• Nausea/vomiting
• Bloating wind
• Dizziness
• Swollen hands
• Fluid retention
• Sleeplessness
• Nose inflammation
• Indigestion
• Upper respiratory tract infection
• Skin rash
• Upset stomach
• Sinusitis

Interaction with other drugs
The components
present in COBIX might show interactions with fluconazole, cytochrome P450 2C9
inhibitors, oral corticosteroids, alcohol and anticoagulants. Make sure that
you inform your doctor about the medicines that you take or have taken in the
recent past to avoid any such interactions from occurring. Do not start or stop
any medicine without consulting your doctor when taking COBIX. Avoid intake of
multivitamin supplements and herbal products with this medicine as this could
interfere in drug absorption.
