CIPLOX 500mg
Ciplox is used to treat a wide variety of
bacterial infections. Various infections in which this medicine is prescribed
include Sinusitis, Prostatitis, Bone and joint infections, Gonorrhea, Diarrhea
caused by bacteria, Typhoid fever, Urinary tract infections and skin
infections.

This medicine works by fighting the bacteria
present in the body and also prevents them from reproducing.

about Medicine
Ciprofloxacin belongs to the family of
fluoroquinolones antibiotics. Different bacterial species for which this
medicine is prescribed are Enterococcus, Anthrax, Salmonella, Proteus,
Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, Pseudomonas, Klebsiella and Shigella.
Dosage information
The dosage would depend on the type of
bacterial infection and condition of the patient. Patients are advised to take
regular dosages to get quick results from this antibiotic.
Strengths available
Ciplox is available in four strengths 100mg,
250mg, 500mg and 750mg.
What if you miss a
dose?
Do not miss any dose of Ciplox, in case you
miss one, take it as soon as you realize. In case, you feel that the time to
next dose is close, skip the missed one and take the regular one.
What if you overdose?
Overdosing is strictly not recommended as it
could even prove fatal. Make sure that you do not make any changes to the
dosage instructed by the doctor. In case, you overdose, contact your local
poison center or medical emergency service for help.
Things to be taken
care of
Women who are pregnant, lactating or trying to
conceive need to talk to their doctor before taking Ciplox. This medicine
should not be given to children below the age of 18 years. if suffering from
depression, asthma, reflux, tendon injury, liver or kidney disease or any heart
condition take this medicine with caution only after consulting your doctor.
This medicine is not going to act on flu and cold as it does not act on viral
infections.

Interaction with other
drugs
Ciplox might interact with Advil, Motrin, antacids, supplements that contain calcium, iron, magnesium and aluminium. Avoid taking caffeine as this medicine would add to its strength leading to sleeplessness and anxiety. If taking any herbal medicine, stop its intake while taking Ciplox as this might also lead to an interference bringing down efficacy of the antibiotic.
