How it works

Beclate rotacaps 400 mcg is available with the generic name Beclomethasone dipropionate. Generally it is prescribed for controlling bronchial asthma. By dilating the airways in lungs it cures asthma. It goes directly into the lungs, reduces irritation and swelling of airways. Thus helps in curing the disease.

Important information about Beclomethasone dipropionate

This medicine should not be started or stopped without taking doctor’s prescription. It starts giving its result within or more than 2 weeks. However, you will feel getting little result within 2 hours of taking the medicine. After taking it, if you feel any voice change, dry throat or headache go and consult the doctor immediately. It may decrease the growth of children. So keep it at a place which is not in the reach of children and don’t give any one else to take it without prescription.

Dosage information

For adults and children of over 12 years age are advised to take 40 to 160 mcg twice daily or 1 to 2 nasal inhalation daily. For 6 to 12 years of children 1 inhalation in each nostril on daily basis is sufficient.  Its higher dosage may decrease formation of bones. So always take the dose as per doctor’s recommendation. Keep a gap of 1 min between every 2 dosages.

What if you miss a dose?

On missing the dose once in a while you should not get stressed. You can take it whenever you recall it keeping this thing into mind that it should not be double dosed.

What if you overdose?

If unknowingly, you have taken overdose of the medicine you should soon visit the nearest hospital to get immediate medical advice.

Things to be taken care of

§  Priming is must before its first use.

§  Don’t shake it before use.

§  Before first time use, spray it in the air 2 times. Or it has not been used for more than 10 days, then also the same needs to be followed.

§  Store it between 59 to 86 degree F.

§  Doing gargle and rinsing the mouth after each use is highly recommended.

Side Effects

Rarely, it does result in several side effects. You need not to be panic about that. A few of them are:

§  Ear pain

§  Fever

§  Sore throat

§  Yeast infection

§  Vision problem

§  Unusual growth of hair

§  Mood swings etc.

Interaction with other drugs

Always tell your doctor before starting this medicine, because there are a few drugs which do interact with it and cause serious harmful results.  Brief list of such medicines is:
