This drug has a generic name Abacavir Sulphate, which is an antiviral drug that prevents human immunodeficiency syndrome from multiplying in your body. This medication is primarily prescribed for the treatment of HIV which is responsible for AIDS (Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome). This drug is sold under various trade names including Ziagen and Abamune (made by Cipla). It is also provided for other treatments which are not enlisted here.   

 

 

Important information about Abacavir Sulphate

 

Abacavir Sulphate (Ziagen, Abamune) will not prevent your body of HIV. However, HIV can be passed into the baby if mother is not treated safely during pregnancy.
